Autumn is the best time of the year (IMO). The weather is perfect and there are so many things to do. Plus, there is Halloween which is the first major holiday after Autumn starts and if you live in my house Halloween is a lifestyle not just a holiday. So make Autumn self care a priority, because it’s easy to get caught up in all the things that you want to do.
Autumn Mindset
Why not start with a fresh Autumn mindset right now? It’s easy to get carried away by all the ideas of what you should be doing this season. So rather than piling on the stress try something new and focus on the things you want to do instead of what you think you should do this season. You deserve to have some fun!
The Autumn season is an excellent time to start shifting your mindset and developing habits not just for your body, but your mind and spirit as well.
Do you struggle with a lack mindset or the inability to focus? If so, these are common signs you need a shift in mindset and Autumn is the perfect time for change.
The Changing of the Seasons
With the leaves changing in the Autumn, it’s a symbolic representation of the seasons of your life also changing. This can be a wonderfully transformative time in your life, which is why the Autumn season is great for adding self care practices and working on your mindset. As Autumn begins, you may notice that you feel like you want to do something different. Add a new hobby to your lineup, start a business you’ve been talking about for years, develop a new workout routine, or take up some type of creative activity. This is completely normal and a great way to improve your mood and mindset. You deserve it.
Autumn is a Time for Resting and Recharging
Some people are more productive in the early months of the year while others focus on getting things completed during the Autumn. I tend to get my send wind in Autumn so I have to remind myself it is also a perfect time to recharge. For some industries this is because there’s less stress and you don’t need to be as productive, that isn’t the case for me. Autumn is the beginning of one of my busy seasons. So I need the reminder that Autumn is also the perfect time to slow down and recharge.
Recharging can be related to your mindset, about how you feel about work, finances, and your daily life. Recharging is not about completely changing your lifestyle, but getting a little more rest, enjoying time with family and friends without feeling like every second of your day has to be productive.
Comfort Leads to a More Positive Mindset
If you’re feeling unhappy, try making your life more comfortable. I know that sounds lame. So hear me out. You could start simple with something like getting softer sheets or a cozy Autumn throw. Either of these can be relaxing and will help you begin to let go of anything that’s holding you back from being happy. I know that seems oversimplified, but in truth, we overcomplicate things more often than not. Keeping it simple will help you be successful in creating a positive mindset.
When you find yourself in those tranquil moments – free from stress, worries or commitments – it’s easier to reconnect with who you are and what you want from your life. This can lead to discovering something that excites, encourages, or inspires.
Set Priorities in Your Life
Creating a balanced life is so important when making positive changes. As you develop a growth mindset, you will feel lighter and better able to focus on your priorities. You will discover what is important to you, which in turn will enable you to set your priorities straight. When you do, you will discover that it is possible to find the time and space in your life for all the things that matter.
Autumn Jounaling for Self Care and Mindset
Autumn is a time of change and contemplation. The Autumn season is perfect for self care and reflection. Get a blank journal and use it to document your day, thoughts, feelings, reflections, and more. Autumn is the perfect time to take stock of your life and write down what you want to do better in the coming year. This can be a nice way to look back on your life each day at the end of the season or throughout the year.
I have included a free Autumn Journal for you to use to help with your self care journey. You can use it in a note annotation app like GoodNotes or print it out and write on it in a traditional manner. No strings.
In Conclusion
I know that most of us put everyone and everything ahead of our own needs but I implore you to take time for yourself this Autumn and practice self care to improve your mindset. Keep it simple. Take 5 minutes a day to relax or journal. Prioritize your mental health and mindset.
